Fiona Ross
Fast becoming known as creating a new contemporary Jazz sound using fast paced Latin Jazz, a hint of vintage jazz club and at times a soul crossover feel with "distinctive vocal prowess who has the ability to knock an audience sideways", London Jazz Artist Fiona Ross – "The Jazz artist that gave Ed Sheeran his 'first push' - Daily Express" – has received rave reviews for both her recent album "Black, White and a Little Bit of Grey" and recent performances including the London Jazz Platform event, Nell's Jazz and Blues, The Pheasantry and Toulouse Lautrec. As Head of the British Academy of New Music, Fiona was responsible for the training of the likes of Ed Sheeran, Rita Ora and Jess Glynne, to name just a few, but now, it is her turn.
Fiona's latest album Fierce & Non Compliantis an eclectic mix of songs that all sit under the heading of Jazz. From the big band feel of the title track, to the haunting, freer ballads, to some Latin and funk – something for everyone. Fiona has indeed created her own contemporary Jazz sound that appeals to a wider audience.
